Exciting news, Sharing Connections family!
We're thrilled to announce that Mia Churma will be stepping into the role of CEO/Executive Director, effective July 1, 2026!
If Mia's name sounds familiar, that's because she's been part of our story for a long time. She's served as our Development Director since 2021 and has been a dedicated volunteer with us for the past 12 years. That's more than a decade of heart, hard work, and deep love for the families we serve.
Mia is stepping into this role as we celebrate a HUGE milestone, our 40th anniversary! We can't think of a better person to lead us into our next chapter.
"For more than a decade, this organization has held a special place in my heart," Mia shared. "I look forward to building on the strong foundation our team has established and ensuring that every family has the comfort and dignity of a furnished home."
We also want to take a moment to celebrate Ryan Varju, who is retiring after an incredible 21 years of service, including the last six as CEO/Executive Director. Ryan, thank you for your leadership, your vision, and your unwavering dedication to our mission. You've helped transform countless empty spaces into homes — and countless lives along the way.
Here's to honoring the past and embracing an exciting future. Please join us in welcoming Mia and wishing Ryan a joyful, well-deserved retirement!

***THIS SUNDAY***
There is something special about a Sunday dinner table – the kind where food is passed, stories are shared, and everyone feels like they belong.
At Cadence Kitchen & Co., that is exactly what we are creating.
Sunday Suppers is our way of slowing down, gathering together, and celebrating the community that has supported us from day one. It’s about gratitude. It’s about connection. It’s about the simple joy of sitting down with good people and a comforting meal.
This is a family-style experience meant to bring people together. Neighbors meeting neighbors. Friends reconnecting. Families sharing time. And all the feel goods of sharing a good meal for a good cause. Because at the heart of everything we do.. is community.
For our June 14th dinner, we warmly welcome Sharing Connections.

It started with one crib. Now, every 73 minutes, a family in Northern Illinois receives the furniture they need to feel safe, stable, and at home.
This spring, we're celebrating 40 years of furnishing hope, and we need your help to reach $10,000 by June 15th.
Veterans. Survivors of domestic violence. Families rebuilding after disaster. Your gift keeps hope moving.
