On October 10th, 2026 at approximately 2:30AM Utica Police and Utica Fire units were dispatched to the 1800 block of South St regarding a motor vehicle accident in which a vehicle had struck a tree.

Upon arrival units located the vehicle and an unresponsive female operator within the vehicle. The Utica Fire Department had to extricate the driver from the vehicle and immediately began to render aid and transport to Wynn Hospital.

Once at Wynn, Emergency Department staff took over care, and despite all life saving measures attempted the female tragically succumbed to her injuries.

The Utica Police Department Accident Reconstruction Team returned to conduct the on-scene investigation, and results from the findings will be released as available.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of the driver at this very difficult time, and any further announcements about the identity of the driver will be released once all notifications have been made.
