It’s hard not to notice the beautiful fall colors as I travel around our district! According to this week’s Pennsylvania Fall Foliage Tracker, peak foliage is almost here. Take a drive along some of our beautiful backroads this weekend, and while you’re out, stop by Solebury Orchards for a delicious c***r donut and support our local fruit farmers.

As always, I had a blast at this year's Porchfest in Doylestown! This year the event featured almost 90 bands across 28 of our neighbors’ porches.

Thank you to the hosts and organizers for consistently making this a wonderful experience for our community.

I had an enchanted evening at the The Oscar Hammerstein Museum & Theatre Education Center’s gala, celebrating the legacy of a Broadway legend and the exciting future of Highland Farm. Alongside Sen. Steve Santarsiero, we helped secure another $1.0 million in state grants to support the transformation of Hammerstein’s former Doylestown home into a museum and theater education center. With the groundbreaking now underway, I can’t wait to see this special project take shape right here in Bucks County!

Last week, I joined fellow local legislators at the Central Bucks Chamber of Commerce’s annual State of the State discussion to talk about Pennsylvania’s economy and how we can build on our progress to better support local businesses and families.

I appreciated hearing from Ben Kirshner, the Shapiro administration’s Chief Transformation Officer, about efforts to make state government more efficient by speeding up permitting and cutting red tape while maintaining strong environmental protections and public safety standards.

We also discussed AI’s enormous potential and how best to prepare our young people for a future shaped by this technology. As leaders, we have a responsibility to not only recognize its remarkable benefits, but also carefully consider how to manage its broader impacts on our economy, education system, and environment.

Want to help your community be better prepared for emergencies?

Borough of Doylestown is looking for volunteers to join its Community Emergency Response Team (CERT). No emergency services experience is needed. Training covers disaster preparedness, emergency communications, basic medical response, fire safety and more.

CERT volunteers help neighbors and support first responders during emergencies, severe weather and other community needs. Training is free and takes about 15 hours over several weeks.

If you’re 18 or older (or at least 16 with parental consent) and want to make a difference in your community, consider getting involved.

Trish and I had a great time joining DCC CARES for its first annual Fairways & Funk fundraiser at Doylestown Country Club! In just a year, this member-formed nonprofit has already made a meaningful impact by supporting local organizations that do important work for our community.

DCC CARES has partnered with groups including Bucks County Housing Group and the New Britain Food Pantry to help support local individuals and families.

I was especially glad to run into our friends from The Next Step Programs at the event. It’s wonderful to see the Doylestown community come together to support the organizations making a difference right here at home. Congratulations to DCC CARES on a successful first year!

I was pleased to join Rep. Brian Munroe and Rep. Jim Prokopiak in presenting $90,000 in state funding to the Bucks County Intermediate Unit to grow the Bucks County Chief Science Officers (CSO) program.

This investment will bring STEM learning to more students, giving them opportunities to build leadership skills, explore new ideas and share their enthusiasm for science and technology with classmates.

Student leaders recently kicked off this year’s program with two days of training at the Bucks IU’s Fab Lab Bucks IU in Warminster, where they met other CSOs and started developing plans for their schools.

I’m glad we can help more students discover where their curiosity can take them.

Praying for these courageous officers and their families.

My prayers are with the brave police officers who were shot while responding to an incident in West Philadelphia early this morning. I am praying for their strength, peace, and full recovery, and for their families and loved ones.

I am deeply grateful to the courageous first responders and dedicated medical professionals who acted swiftly and continue to provide care. In moments of tragedy, we must honor the heroes who step up to protect and serve us, while renewing our commitment to end gun violence.
