💞This October, the Dracut Police Department recognizes Breast Cancer Awareness Month by shining a light on someone who has made a tremendous impact on our department and the members of our Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu program — Stephanie Fritz.

Stephanie came into our lives as a coach, sharing her knowledge, experience, and passion for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu with the kids’ program and our officers. But it didn’t take long for her role to become much more than that. She became a mentor, a friend, and someone our officers genuinely looked forward to seeing on the mats.

The bond Stephanie developed with the kids and our officers is something truly special. She challenged us, encouraged us, pushed us outside of our comfort zones, and helped make each person she worked with better — both on the mats and off.

Today, Stephanie is facing a much different kind of fight as she continues her battle with breast cancer and undergoes treatment. Throughout this journey, she has shown the same strength, courage, determination, and fighting spirit that she has always brought to our BJJ program.

To those of us who have had the privilege of knowing and training with Stephanie, this fight is personal. We have seen firsthand the kind of person she is, the impact she has had on our officers, and the difference she has made in our department.

So this Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we aren’t just wearing pink or raising awareness. We are standing with Stephanie. We are behind her, supporting her, and reminding her that the same team she has spent so much time encouraging is now standing in her corner.

💕Breast Cancer Awareness Month - October 2026

•This October, the Dracut Police Department proudly joins our community and millions around the world in recognizing Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

•We stand in solidarity with the survivors, support those currently fighting, and remember the lives lost to this disease. Breast cancer touches so many families including those within our own department and town, and we are committed to raising awareness, encouraging early detection, and supporting the continued fight for a cure.

•Throughout the month, you will see our officers wearing pink patches as a visible sign of support. It’s a small gesture, but a powerful reminder that awareness saves lives 💞 🌸
