We were so happy to get a visit from the pre-K students at Drummond's Elementary School this morning. All the children got a quick lesson in fire safety, were issued fire helmets, and had pictures taken in fire apparatus. Thank you for coming over and bringing all the moms and dads with you as well.

It's that time of year again - annual hose and ladder testing. Crews will be at both stations this week, testing all hose and ladders in our inventory. We currently test approximately 9,500 feet of various sizes of fire hose and 300 feet of ladders. This is an annual requirement, and we're fortunate to have a great partnership with IIA Fire Department Testing. The Drummonds Park is temporarily closed this morning from the Elementary School end for a couple of hours, but it's accessible from Tate Rd.

Talking about having friends in the right places at the right time! Due to the boat ramp at Duvall Landing being out of the river at the moment, we had to launch at a not-so-normal location for the search and rescue mission last Monday. This caused havoc when loading the boats back onto the trailers. Thanks to Enstructure for assisting with the equipment and tow out of the river.

Earlier this week, Osceola Fire Department and requested assistance from the Tipton County Swiftwater Team to assist in the search for the missing boater from boat that capsized Sunday evening on the Arkansas side of the Mississippi River. We were able to send two crews with two boats, along with our sonar equipment to help. We had to launch from a different location than normal due to the river being so low right now. Team members were from Tipton County Fire and Munford Fire Department. Although they were on the water for six hours, they were unable to locate the missing boater during this search.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family members that were affected by this tragedy. Thanks to all the responders that participated from both Tennessee and Arkansas.

188 total emergency calls for the month of August 2026, for the Tipton County Fire Department.

Since going live in 2020, this by far has been the busiest month to date. Adding the second station has proven to be very beneficial to those on the east side of Tipton County. We also respond to all emergencies in the City of Mason from the new location. Thank you to the Tipton County Commissioners for recognizing the need and making this happen for the citizens in the eastern portion of the County.

Thank you to all the responders that assisted with locating Mr. Billings. A great effort by all agencies.
