Key West Community Fire Department

The Key West Fire Department is proud to announce that we have received a $15,000 grant to replace expired bunker gear for some of our members.
We extend our sincere thanks to the Dubuque County Board of Supervisors and the Tom Hancock Memorial Grant for their support and investment in our firefighters’ safety. This funding will help ensure our members have the protective equipment they need to safely serve our community.

🚒🔥 October is Fire Safety Awareness Month! 🔥🚒

Today, KWFD had the pleasure of visiting Key West Early Childcare to spend time with some amazing little learners! ❤️

Our firefighters talked with the kids about the importance of not being afraid of firefighters, shared helpful fire safety tips, and showed them how firefighters are here to help keep everyone safe.

Of course, we had to add a little fun to the day! The kids got the chance to spray the fire hose and tour our apparatus. 🚒💦

A big thank you to Key West Early Childcare for welcoming us! We love opportunities like these to connect with our community and help our youngest residents learn important lessons about fire safety. ❤️

Remember: Firefighters are friends who are here to help! 👨‍🚒👩‍🚒

💻Check out our website under public info - Fire Prevention for some great game and fire safety tips for kiddos.

🚒 A HUGE thank you to the Dubuque Elks Lodge #297 for your incredibly generous donation!

Your support will help us tremendously as we work toward our goal of purchasing 10 new sets of firefighter gear to replace gear that has expired.

This new gear is essential to ensuring the safety and protection of our firefighters as they serve our community. We are truly grateful for your generosity and commitment to supporting our department and the men and women who put their lives on the line to protect others.

Thank you, Dubuque Elks Lodge, for standing behind your local firefighters! 👨‍🚒👩‍🚒🔥

We appreciate you more than you know!

Three of our members had the opportunity to attend FDIC International, the largest firefighter convention in the United States, with nearly 38,000 firefighters from across the country in attendance.

While there, they participated in training classes, explored trade show booths, and watched live demonstrations—all with the goal of expanding their knowledge and bringing back new ideas, skills, and resources to benefit our department and community.
