Dive into an ocean of glowing fun tonight in Downtown Duluth!

Before the parade begins, design your own ocean-themed lantern at the Craft Gazebo near Sweet Octopus (available until 8:00 PM or while supplies last). While youโ€™re waiting for the parade, enjoy free face painting and live music by Cashe Music in Parsons Alley, then head to Town Green for live music by Finding North and delicious food trucks.

At 9:15 PM, gather at the Fountain with your lantern and join the Lantern Parade as we light up Downtown Duluth together! Weโ€™ll stroll five blocks through downtown before returning to the Main Stage for a special performance by Liquid Sky to close out the evening.

๐Ÿฆ— Did you know Downtown Duluth was once home to a cricket factory?

Long before Main Street became the destination we know today, an unassuming brick building housed a business that shipped thousands of live cricket boxes across the Southeast. And while the factory is gone, clues to its history can still be found throughout Downtown Duluth... if you know where to look.

As part of our Duluth 150: Did You Know? series, weโ€™re uncovering the stories, fun facts, and hidden history that helped shape our community as we continue our Road to 150 leading up to Duluthโ€™s 150th Anniversary celebration on September 12, 2026. ๐ŸŽ‰
