Lighthouse Located on the South Pier Breakwater in Duluth, Minnesota

This historic lighthouse, located on the South Pier of the Duluth Ship Canal breakwater in Duluth, Minnesota, was originally commissioned in 1901. In 2008, the 67-foot tall skeletal structure was sold by the Federal Government, as it was no longer deemed a necessary aid to navigation, thanks to modern navigational technologies. The lighthouse, now owned by two Duluth residents, still shines brightly for vessels entering the Duluth Harbor, and is a landmark of Duluth's historic waterfront.
