💜 OCTOBER IS DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AWARENESS MONTH 💜
Domestic violence doesn’t discriminate. It happens in every community, every neighborhood, and every walk of life. Even right here in our own community.
October is a time to raise awareness, support survivors, remember those whose lives have been lost, and remind anyone experiencing abuse that YOU ARE NOT ALONE.
💜 THE STATISTICS ARE ALARMING
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC):
💜 More than 1 in 3 women and 1 in 6 men in the United States have experienced physical violence, sexual violence, and/or stalking by an intimate partner during their lifetime.
💜 An estimated 6.7 million women and 2.8 million men experienced one or more of these forms of intimate partner violence during a 12-month period.
💜 Domestic violence isn’t always physical. It can include emotional abuse, threats, intimidation, financial control, isolation, and manipulation.
Behind every statistic is a real person. A mother, father, daughter, son, friend, coworker, or neighbor.

IF YOU ARE EXPERIENCING DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, PLEASE KNOW THIS:
You deserve to feel safe.
You deserve to be respected.
You deserve a life free from fear and abuse.
And most importantly, you do not have to face it alone.
If you know someone who may be experiencing abuse, listen without judgment, offer support, and help connect them with available resources.
💜 Domestic violence thrives in silence. Awareness, education, and community support can help break that silence.
This October, let’s stand together as a community, support survivors, and remind everyone that help is available and hope is possible.
TOGETHER, WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE. 💜
