🚨 Motor Vehicle Accident 9/3/26 🚨
This afternoon, Cagle Volunteer Fire Department responded to a single-vehicle motor vehicle accident with entrapment on Highway 399.
We were joined on scene by Dunlap Fire Department, Piney Fire Department, Palmer Fire Department, Tennessee Highway Patrol, Sequatchie County Sheriff’s Office, Sequatchie Emergency Management, Grundy County Sheriff’s Office, Puckett, and Grundy EMS. Multiple agencies worked together to manage the scene, assist with the vehicle, provide traffic control, and care for those involved.
This incident also serves as an important reminder about scene safety and traffic control.
The location of this accident occurred around the 35 MPH curves, where visibility and roadway conditions can make an already dangerous situation even more challenging. When an accident first occurs, it can take time for enough emergency personnel to arrive and completely shut down, back up and/or redirect traffic. This area of Highway 399 was shut down completely while crews worked the scene. It was reopened around 4:30pm.
Please remember to slow down. Pay attention. Give emergency responders time and room to work.
We want everyone to get to their destinations safely.
Thank you to all of the agencies who worked alongside us today. ❤️🔥🚒
