We had a wonderful time enjoying storytime and singing some fun songs together! 🎶📖 After our time inside, we headed outside to check out the fire truck! 🚒 The kids had a great time learning, singing, and exploring! ❤️

📢 LET’S TALK MEDICARE!

Have questions about Medicare? Come to the Sequatchie County Public Library on Tuesday, October 20, at 10:00 AM for an educational presentation covering the basics of Medicare and how it works, including upcoming changes for 2027. Sign-up is not required, but registering in advance will help us know how many people to prepare for!

This presentation is for you whether you’re getting ready to enroll in Medicare, already have Medicare, or are a family member trying to better understand it so you can help a parent or grandparent navigate their coverage. 💙

👩‍🏫 Presented by Wendy Barrett, a licensed insurance agent with Williams Barrett Insurance Solutions, this session will provide a general overview of Medicare and an opportunity to ask questions. Individual coverage questions won’t be discussed with the group, but Wendy will have information available for anyone interested in scheduling a separate one-on-one meeting.

This is an educational presentation, not a sales event. The library is hosting this program as a community learning opportunity and is not affiliated with or endorsing Williams Barrett Insurance Solutions.

🚒🔥 Safety Fair at the Library! Friday, October 9th | 10 AM–12 PM 👩‍🚒📚 ALL AGES WELCOME!

Join us at the library for a fun and friendly Safety Fair beginning at 10:00 AM!

🚨 IMPORTANT: If you want to see the firetruck and meet our local firefighters, please come early! 👩‍🚒🚒

Our firefighters will be here with a real firetruck for kids to explore, but the firetruck and firefighters will only be here for the beginning of the program and may leave before 12:00 PM. So don’t wait until later to come by if you want to meet them!

Kids will have a chance to:

👩‍🚒 Meet our local firefighters 🚒 Explore a real firetruck 🔥 Learn what to do in a fire or emergency 💙 Get comfortable with the community helpers who are there to keep us safe

The Safety Fair will continue at the library through 12:00 PM, but the firetruck and firefighters will not necessarily be here the entire time.

🐻 Smokey Bear Visits the Library — TODAY!

Today’s the day! Smokey Bear is visiting the Sequatchie County Public Library! 🔥🐻

Come meet Smokey, learn about fire safety and wildfire prevention, and get a chance to see this famous bear up close!

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 All ages are welcome! Bring the kids, grandkids, or just stop by and say hello.

A quick heads-up for parents of our littlest library friends: Smokey is a person wearing a very large bear suit. 😄 If your little one takes one look at him and decides they are absolutely NOT interested in meeting a giant bear today, that's okay! Our Family Room will be available as a quieter place to take a break and calm down away from the activity.

Our wonderful Friends volunteer their time to sort, organize, and recycle donated books and other materials—and every dollar raised goes right back to support the Sequatchie County Public Library! 🥰📚
