Use caution!

As mentioned earlier, the Greater Scranton YMCA located on North Blakely Street is hosting their Trunk or Treat event this evening between 5PM and 7PM. We will be there to meet the community.

In the past, this event was heavily attended. Be alert for heavier than usual vehicular traffic on N. Blakely Street and the O’Neil Highway, as well as a lot of foot traffic in the areas of N. Blakely St. and Jessup Avenue. Choose an alternate route if you can to avoid congestion in the area.

PLEASE BE MINDFUL that pedestrians have the right of way crossing at intersections managed by stop signs.

Election Day Food Drive:

Election Day food drive sponsored by Borough Council and Mayor! Donations will be accepted at all polling locations on Election Day, Nov. 3rd and will continue at the DCC only until Nov. 30. Healthy cereal is greatly needed. Last year was a huge success, any help to make this year even better is greatly appreciated!

Busy day at the borough so a little late getting this out. Congratulations to Michael “Didge” Judge on his retirement! Didge was a dedicated borough employee for nearly 40 years with the last 25 years as DPW director. Happy and healthy retirement Didge!!

Columbus Day Schedule:

The borough office and DPW will be closed for Columbus Day, Monday October 12, re-opening Tuesday. Refuse services will be behind one day for the week.

Today Martin Monahan was sworn in as Dunmore Police Chief. Chief Monahan brings 30 years of dedicated law enforcement experience to the borough. We look forward to him serving our community!
