For years, Dunmore residents have faced increasingly high water and sewer bills. Along with our state and local officials, I’ve attended meetings, participated in PUC hearings, and pushed for greater scrutiny of these rates.
But residents are still struggling and there is no relief in sight. Earlier this week, a mother of four called me asking what could be done about her bill. She told me her water and sewer costs are nearing what she pays for her mortgage, and she’s considering moving because of it. And she is not alone.
We’ve raised these concerns through the appropriate channels, but the rate hikes keep coming. Now, I’m asking Dunmore residents to come together so we can bring our concerns directly to Governor Josh Shapiro's administration and the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission.
