We want to give a huge shout out to our volunteers and partners that helped us in our "Day of Caring" at Arkansaw Creek Park today. Students worked all day to spruce things up for us! Special thanks to Cathy Asher with Prevail Bank and the United Way crew for making this happen!

Do you know how your family would communicate during an emergency?

Your emergency plan should include:
📱 How you'll receive alerts and warnings
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 How family members will communicate
🏠 Where you'll go if your home is unsafe
🚗 How you'll get to a safe location

Preparedness starts with a plan. Take time this month to create or review yours:

Disasters or emergencies can happen at any moment, with little notice. Being prepared is especially important in the case of a disaster. It’s up to everyone ...

🤝 Strong communities are built on preparedness.

This National Preparedness Month, help make our community more resilient by:
✔️ Learning CPR or first aid
✔️ Signing up for emergency alerts
✔️ Checking on neighbors, older adults, and those living alone
✔️ Volunteering in your community
✔️ Sharing reliable information during emergencies

When we prepare together, we're stronger together.

Have you rounded up all of your old paint, stain, household and lawn care chemicals yet? The annual fall clean sweep is this upcoming Saturday, so make sure you check the back corner of cupboards, the basement, garage, and outbuildings for anything you want to get out of your house.

As a reminder, pharmaceuticals can be dropped off in the prescription medicine dropbox outside of the Pepin County Sheriff's Office any day of the year, so there is no need to drive to Ellsworth and wait in line to dispose of expired medicines.
