This week’s Community Partnership Spotlight introduces 4 The Children, a Team Up Community Partner supporting children and families across Southwest Colorado.

4 The Children's Work Includes:
• Court Appointed Special Advocates advocating for children who have experienced abuse or neglect.
• Supervised Exchange & Parenting Time, providing a safe setting for children and parents to spend time together.
• A Child Advocacy Center, offering child-friendly support for children and families affected by sexual abuse.

Community Connections connects people with disabilities and their families to resources, support and choices across Southwest Colorado. Through early intervention, family support and individualized care coordination, Community Connections helps people access the resources they choose to lead healthy, fulfilling lives. They also host a Team Up AmeriCorps member, connecting local service with the work of building a more inclusive community.

At Team Up, we Listen First.
Team Up’s Action Teams bring people together to understand local challenges and turn what they learn into practical steps forward.

On September 29, the Child Maltreatment Prevention Action Team (CMPAT) held a parent listening session in Cortez to better understand the personal connections and support parents need. Their input is helping shape a Montezuma County child maltreatment prevention plan focused on reducing parental stress and addressing factors that contribute to child neglect.
