🍂 Reminder: Fall Family Wellness Event is tomorrow!

Join us October 8 from 5-7:30 p.m. at the Choctaw Nation Community Center in Atoka for free health screenings, body composition assessments and flu vaccines for ages 6 months and older.

This come-and-go event is open to all ages and both tribal and non-tribal families. We look forward to seeing you there!

Let's reintroduce Erica! Recently she was selected to join our Foster Care Recruitment Team!

You may already know Erica from her previous work in Foster Care. For the past four years she has worked with Families near the McAlester area, but with this change you will be seeing her a lot more across the reservation working to raise awareness and locating loving and supporting homes for our Choctaw children in foster care.

Have you ever butt-dialed anyone?

Not that long ago I received a call from an unfamiliar number - no words, just rustling sounds, some creaks, and the sounds of someone eating a snack. After a few minutes my friend must've realized and came to the phone - Turns out, my friend had gotten a new phone, a new number, and a new carrier. He just hadn't told me about it yet.

Whether you're a Foster Care Worker or a Foster Parent, foster care keeps you on your toes. Either way, here's to the workers and foster parents that always answer every call like it might be an adventure!

Did you know? In Oklahoma, Native American children make up more than 20% of the foster care population; however, Native Americans only make up about only about 10% of the state's population.
