Ready to take the next step in critical care transport?

Applications are now open for the 2027 Duke Life Flight Mentorship Program.

Designed for nurses and paramedics looking to expand their clinical knowledge and explore the challenges of critical care transport, this program offers opportunities to learn directly from experienced Duke Life Flight clinicians.

What can you expect?

• Mentorship from experienced flight clinicians
• Quarterly education days and clinical case reviews
• Ground and air ride-along opportunities
• Hands-on simulation and focused clinical education

Whether you're exploring a future in critical care transport or looking to strengthen your existing skills, this program offers an opportunity to learn, grow, and gain valuable insight into the field.

Applications close December 15, 2026. The 2027 cohort begins in March.

During Survival Day, our crews spent the day practicing real-world survival skills like building shelters, starting fires, finding water, and working through challenges together in the field.

The skills matter, but so does the experience of training side by side. Days like this build trust, strengthen teamwork, and reinforce the relationships that are essential in critical care transport.

We hope these skills are never needed outside of training, but being prepared is part of what we do.
