Happy Principals Appreciation Month Principal Clay. This is a message from your students at The School for Creative Studies

This week is College Application Week in the State of NC. One of the most anticipated events of the campaign is College Application Week (CAW), where many NC colleges and universities waive their application fees. Today, students, faculty and staff wore our college gear to promote and encourage students who want to attend college or a university.

DURHAM FAMILIES: SAVE THE APPLICATION MONEY—COLLEGE APPLICATION WEEK STARTS MONDAY. 🎓

From October 19 at 7:30 a.m. through October 25 at 5 p.m., participating North Carolina colleges and universities are waiving application fees through CFNC.

The official 2026 list includes:

• North Carolina Central University
• North Carolina A&T State University
• East Carolina University
• Elizabeth City State University
• Fayetteville State University
• Winston-Salem State University
• Shaw University
• All 58 North Carolina community colleges

Those are just some of the participating schools.

Start at CFNC.org/apply, check the list for your application type, and submit during the waiver window. Eligibility can differ for first-year, transfer and returning students.

This covers APPLICATION FEES. It does not mean tuition is free or admission is guaranteed.

Durham seniors, use this weekend to check your login, gather your information and talk with your school counselor about anything missing.

Parents, grandparents and mentors—pass this along to a student making their next move. Applying to several schools can get expensive. This is a chance to keep those fees in the family’s pocket.
