You may see these pink ribbons on all Duxbury Police cruisers throughout the month of October. 🎀
For us, these ribbons represent much more than Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
They represent hope. They represent strength. They represent the countless women and families who have faced breast cancer, and the communities that have stood beside them.
But this year, the meaning hits much closer to home.
The Duxbury Police Officers Association is not only supporting the fight against breast cancer — we currently have a member of our own department family battling this disease.
She is a wife, a mother, and someone who means so much to the Duxbury Police family. As she faces this fight, we want her to know that she is surrounded by people who care about her, believe in her, and will stand beside her every step of the way.
Police officers understand the meaning of having each other’s backs. We do it every day on the job. And when one of our own is facing a fight like this, that same commitment extends far beyond the uniform.
These pink ribbons are for her.
They are a reminder that she is not fighting alone. They are for her family, who are fighting alongside her. And they are for every person in our community who has been touched by breast cancer.
This October, when you see a Duxbury Police cruiser with a pink ribbon, we hope you see more than a symbol.
See a department standing together.
See a community standing together.
See a family standing together.
To our own: we’ve got your back. ❤️🎀
With love and support,
Duxbury Police Officers Association
