COMMUNITY HELPER DAY AT DYERSBURG PRIMARY SCHOOL.

The Dyersburg Police Department had a great time visiting with the 1st graders at Dyersburg Primary School today for Community Helper Day.

Students had the chance to explore our police car and Special Operations and Response Team (S.O.R.T.) truck, meet K-9 Officer Wheatley and K-9 Broy, and watch our drone take flight!

We always enjoy spending time with our youngest community members, answering their questions, and giving them a glimpse into what our officers do each day.

A big THANK YOU to Dyersburg Primary School for inviting us to be part of this fun and educational day.

Dyersburg Police Department Hosts Law Enforcement Open House

The Dyersburg Police Department recently hosted a Law Enforcement Open House, welcoming investigators from surrounding law enforcement agencies for an opportunity to strengthen working relationships and collaboration throughout the region.

Chief Thomas Langford hosted the event with the goal of enhancing partnerships, improving communication, and sharing information about the resources and capabilities available through each participating agency.

The open house provided investigators an opportunity to meet face-to-face, learn more about the resources available to assist one another, and establish connections that can be invaluable when working cases that cross jurisdictional boundaries.

“Strong partnerships with our neighboring agencies are essential to effective law enforcement,” said Chief Langford. “By knowing one another and understanding the resources each agency has available, we can communicate more effectively and work together to better serve and protect our communities.”

The Dyersburg Police Department appreciates the investigators and agencies who participated and looks forward to continuing to strengthen these partnerships through cooperation, communication, and shared resources.

🐾 Look Who Came Out of Retirement! 🐾

Today was an exciting day for the Dyersburg Police Department as retired K9 Axel came out of retirement for a few hours to help train our K9 Team!

Axel put his skills back to work, assisting with training exercises focused on open-area searches for narcotics and evidence recovery.

It was great to see Axel back in action, doing what he loves! ❤️🐕‍🦺

Once a K9 officer, always a K9 officer! 🐾💙

Community partnerships make a difference. 🐾💙

We are incredibly thankful to the City of Dyersburg and the Dyersburg Police Department for their recent donation of protective equipment to our Animal Control team, including 5 Kevlar vest panels, 5 Molle carriers, and 4 spray pouches.

Our Animal Control Officers respond to situations every day where we don’t always know what we’re walking into, and having additional protective equipment available helps us better equip our officers while they serve our community.

We especially appreciate City of Dyersburg Mayor John Holden, Dyersburg Police Chief Thomas Langford, and Lieutenant Brad Perkins for working with us to make this donation possible and for taking the time to meet with our team this morning.

Animal welfare is truly a community effort. Having the support and cooperation of our city leadership and law enforcement allows all of us to work together toward the same goal: a safer, stronger community for both people and animals.

Thank you, City of Dyersburg and Dyersburg Police Department, for continuing to support our Animal Control Officers and the work we do every day. We are grateful for the partnership! 💙🐾
