This week, Thomas Lake celebrated Unity Day, a nationwide event focused on kindness, inclusion, and standing together against bullying.

While schools traditionally wear orange for Unity Day, our students and staff proudly wore their blue Thomas Lake t-shirts to show our school unity and spirit. During our schoolwide assembly, we talked about the importance of kindness, inclusion, and being upstanders against bullying. We also came together for a schoolwide apple crunch to celebrate our community.

During our school-wide assembly on Wednesday, our entire school was able to participate in the Minnesota Great Apple Crunch. We all took a big bite of an apple slice at the same time and heard the “crunch”. Our nutrition services team also prepared applesauce and served it during lunch on Friday. It was Apple-solutely delicious!

Our PRIDE students of the week🏅 This week, we focused on Positivity—finding the bright side, using kind words, and helping others feel good.

🌟Caregiver Connection: Read “Have You Filled a Bucket Today?” by Carol McCloud with your student. Talk about how small acts of kindness and positive words can “fill someone’s bucket” at home and school.
