๐บ๐ธ SEPTEMBER 11 โ WE REMEMBER ๐บ๐ธ
Today, we pause from our everyday calls, training, and responsibilities to remember a day that changed our country โ and our fire service โ forever.
On September 11, 2001, firefighters and first responders across our nation answered the call to serve, just as we do here in our own community. They climbed toward the danger while knowing there were people who needed them.
We may be a small volunteer department serving our neighbors here in East Bernstadt and the surrounding Crossroads community, but we understand what it means to hear the call and respond โ no matter the time, the weather, or the circumstances.
Today, we remember the firefighters, law enforcement officers, EMS personnel, civilians, and every family whose lives were forever changed that day.
We remember the 343 firefighters who never made it home.
And we remember the families who waited for them.
As volunteers, we donโt put on the uniform expecting recognition. We put it on because someone in our community may need us. That is the same spirit of service we witnessed on September 11.
So today, from our firehouse to yours:
We remember those who gave everything.
We honor those who answered the call.
And we pray for the families who still carry their loss.
๐บ๐ธ 25 years later, we still remember.
We will always remember.
Never Forget.
Crossroads Volunteer Fire Department
Serving our community. Honoring those who served theirs.
