Yesterday, the 5th grade went to the Hood Museum at Dartmouth College. They viewed public art and learned about how it can transform public spaces, and how it can impact people in those spaces. Scholars learned about works by Joel Shapiro, Ellsworth Kelly and Kiki Smith. They also had the opportunity to create their own model.

Waits River Valley School received a delivery of over 200 pumpkins to carve and completed the assignment in the last two days. These pumpkins will be part of the "Karving for Kay" pumpkin display which will be illuminated Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday at 21 Rudd Farm Road in Barre. Thank you to Amber Kilduff, Liza Pierson, and Jenn Noyes for helping to get the pumpkins gutted, along with staff and scholars who also helped! The scholars had a great time carving the pumpkins!
