ATTENTION DERRY RESIDENTS: The Derry School Board will be having their Fiscal Advisory/Budget meetings very soon. It is important for all Derry taxpayers to understand how the school districts budgeting process works so you can see where your tax dollars are actually going. I encourage all Derry residents to attend or to at least watch the recordings. There will be no public comment period at these meetings but if you’re interested in joining the Fiscal Advisory Committee, sign-ups/applications are typically open in May or June.

The right way to reduce our property taxes is to increase state funding for our schools.

Regardless of what advocates for this ballot question say, this tax cap proposal was designed with one goal in mind: to further undermine public education. Property taxes aren’t high because of runaway spending by schools; they’re high because the State refuses to pay its share of public education costs, downshifting the costs to property taxpayers. The pro-ballot measure sign campaign incorrectly states that approval of the cap will lower property taxes: while it would constrain the school budget portion of your property taxes, it will have no impact on the many other cost components that comprise property taxes. And despite what the language of the ballot question itself actually says, in many cases a tax cap will lead to cuts in student services and resources, because there will be nothing else that can be cut. Finally, school districts may already vote on adopting school tax caps during the normal budget process. This proposal is a power grab by Ayotte and her GOP/Free State-aligned Legislature that undercuts the local control so cherished in the Granite State.

🚨 ATTENTION DERRY - 19 CHESTER ROAD UPDATE 🚨

Well… I WAS planning on attending tonight’s ZBA meeting just to make sure everything went as planned. You know me, I wasn’t taking any chances. 😂👀

Turns out there is officially NO MEETING TONIGHT.

The Town has posted that ZBA Case 26-131 for 19 Chester Road has been FORMALLY WITHDRAWN by the applicant, Denali Building and Development Corp. The proposal was for 6 buildings and 156 multifamily units.

So for tonight, folks… we can stay home. 😂🏡

I’ll still be keeping an eye on what happens next with this property. After everything we’ve learned through this process, I’m not putting the binder away just yet. 👀📚🌲🦅

I have officially been endorsed by the Planned Parenthood New Hampshire Action Fund PAC

The freedom to make personal medical decisions, protecting the right of individuals and families to make those decisions without government interference are issues I have long stood for.
Access to reproductive healthcare, must be available to everyone.

I am really happy with this endorsement, I recall several years ago there was a person coming into Derry with signs to protest. A bunch of us banded together and decided that we would all donate money to PPP every time this person showed up in Derry. This is not PPP directly, but is their political advocacy group, I haven’t accepted any money contributions just this endorsement.
