Yesterday, Connecticut state leaders got an up-close look at the people, facilities, and capabilities that keep the Connecticut National Guard ready to serve during a civil leader orientation tour and flight.
The visit began at Bradley Air National Guard Base, where Brig. Gen. Mike Sipples and senior Army and Air National Guard leaders discussed the Guardโs dual state and federal mission before accompanying participants aboard a CH-47 Chinook helicopter to tour our facilities across the state such, as the 1109th Aviation Classification Repair Activity Depot (AVCRAD) and Camp Nett in Niantic.
Participants learned about aviation maintenance operations, medical readiness, and the critical role periodic health and dental assessments play in preparing Soldiers for deployment.
Beyond showcasing our capabilities, the tour provided an opportunity to strengthen relationships with state leaders, highlight the dedication of our Soldiers and Airmen, and demonstrate the resources required to maintain a ready and capable force.
