Our mission is to select qualified candidates for local offices who embody the core values of the Democratic party (ex. social and economic equality, equal access to education for all, gun reform, equal pay, voting rights, environmental protection) and who will serve all the residents of East Greenbush in attainment of those values. The EGDC supports and fundraises for those candidates, and assists in voter registration, so all eligible residents are able to cast their votes. Each of our Democratic Committee persons is also automatically a voting committee member of the Rensselaer County Democratic Party. We also support the County party’s efforts to identify and elect well qualified Democratic candidates for County offices. The EGDC does not discriminate on the grounds of race, s*x, age, color, creed, national origin, religion, ethnic identity, s*xual orientation, disability, or economic status. Our meetings are currently being held at Melvin Roads American Legion and by Zoom due to the pandemic.
