🦆💛 Friends of Lake Pocotopaug reminds everyone to please slow down and stay alert while driving around the lake!

It’s baby duck and baby goose season, and many little families are crossing roads and exploring near the water. A few extra seconds of caution can help protect our wildlife and keep everyone safe.

Please:
🚗 Drive slowly around the lake
🛑 Watch carefully near road edges and crossings
🦢 Be extra cautious for ducks, geese, and their babies

Thank you for helping keep Lake Pocotopaug safe and beautiful for both people and wildlife! 💙🌿

A great asset for our lake!

Friends of the Lake is pleased to announce the purchase of 10 new Solar Illuminating Rock Buoys. These new Buoys with all new chains and anchors will be installed soon by the East Hampton Park and Rec department.

Good to see a real winter on the lake again! ❄️

At last night’s CLC meeting a recommendation was made to set the winter lake Level at -20 to -24” for the winter months. The drawdown will begin after Oct 14, at approximately -3” per week.

Currently, the lake is at -8” and last winter it was down to -40”.

💥💥 Let's LIGHT UP THE LAKE 💥💥

The Friends of the Lake are inviting boat owners to decorate your boats in lights and gather on August 9th at 8:30pm in the waters in front of CVS/Lake Pocotopaug Sign.

Then slowly cruise around the lake passing by Sears Park 1st continue cruising around the lake passing by the many lake/ beach associations and bays. 🧭

As we have stated in the past this is NOT AN ORGANIZED BOAT PARADE you do not need to fill out an entry form , just feel free to join in the fun !

We ask boats to cruise at no wake speed . Participate your own risk. We cannot guarantee that boats will go around the whole lake or pass by at any particular time.

Sears Park will be open past dusk for people to park and watch the boat's going by.

Property owners, businesses and lake associations are encouraged to put lights up too !

Let's LIGHT UP THE LAKE on August 9th starting at 8:30pm in the area in front of CVS/ Lake Pocotopaug sign !

The lighthouse is blinking again! (Video in Comments)
The flashing beacon on the lighthouse was replaced. Keep an eye out for the blink, every three seconds from dusk ‘til dawn!
