On Tuesday, October 20, our 7th–12th grade orchestras took the stage for their first performances of the school year, closing the evening with all 220 students performing together for the finale!

Ms. Paiz and Mr. Rosin would like to thank the students for their hard work and wonderful performances.

You can enjoy our combined high school strings performance of Sibelius's Andante Festivo here:

Glencairn had so much to celebrate last week! Students enjoyed our Fun Run to wrap up our fundraising efforts, and we’re grateful to everyone who supported our school.

We also held our first student advisory committee meeting, where students shared changes they’d like to see at Glencairn, and celebrated our October staff nominees for all they bring to our school community.

It was a wonderful time of coming together, sharing ideas, and recognizing the people who make Glencairn special!

Marble Elementary 3rd Graders were super excited to attend WILD School at Potter Park Zoo earlier this month! Students worked alongside zoo staff, teachers and chaperones to complete hands-on investigations, strengthen their reading and writing skills through field research, and learn about care for animal conservation. Thank you to the many volunteers who made this week possible, and also a very special shout-out to Ms. Charles and Mrs. Johnston for SO MUCH time and effort put into making WILD School a week their students won't forget!

A big thank you to the families who joined us for our first flu clinic! 💉🍩🍎

The East Lansing Health Center team vaccinated 16 patients, who enjoyed donuts and c***r and had the chance to enter a raffle for an Amazon gift card.

There’s another chance to get your flu vaccine! Join us for our next flu clinic on Friday, October 30, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The clinic is open to young people ages 5–21, or up to age 26 with an IEP.

TOMORROW -- East Lansing Public Schools Health Center and Ele’s Place are partnering to offer Supporting Children Through Grief and Loss, a free workshop for parents and caregivers. The conversation will focus on understanding how children and teens experience grief and practical ways caregivers can provide safety, stability, and support after the death of an important person in their lives.

The workshop will also explore how to talk with children about death and loss using honest, developmentally appropriate language, recognize responses that may not seem connected to grief, and understand when additional support may be helpful.

Wednesday, October 28
6–7:30 p.m.
East Lansing High School Library
Free to attend

This workshop is intended for families of students in middle school and beyond, though all are welcome. Registration is available by going to https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScI3PHj41AZSLKsLIVwwuVA1QxydhdS-O9H2zRIC1s_g0Hfjg/viewform or by emailing [email protected].

An undefeated season and a conference title for ELHS Girls Swim & Dive! 💙🤍

With a 107–79 win over DeWitt, the team finished the regular season 7–0 and earned the title of regular season conference champions!

The senior class has even more to celebrate: four years undefeated at home and an incredible 26–2 record throughout their high school careers. Their win continued the team’s five-year undefeated streak at the ELHS pool!

Congratulations to the athletes and coaches on an outstanding season, and good luck as you prepare for the Conference Championship and State Meet!

As Thanksgiving approaches, East Lansing High School and the ELHS National Honor Society are once again partnering with Christian Services to help provide Thanksgiving baskets to local families. If your family could use a little extra support this holiday season, we encourage you to reach out. 💛

Registration Dates: October 12–29, 2026

Please register by October 29. All requests must go directly through Christian Services, rather than East Lansing Public Schools, to help ensure that families are connected with assistance and that baskets can be coordinated effectively. Christian Services can be reached at 517-394-5411.

We're grateful for this partnership and the opportunity to come together to support our East Lansing community this Thanksgiving! 🧡
