Nassau County, N.Y., Sheriff's Department Attends Paws of War Car Show
Members of the Nassau County, N.Y., Sheriff's Department were proud to attend the annual Paws of War Car Show in Nesconset. The event brought together community members, car enthusiasts, and supporters for a great cause.
Proceeds from the event will help provide a disabled U.S. military veteran with a fully trained service dog, offering invaluable companionship, support, and independence to those who have sacrificed so much for our nation.
The Sheriff's Department is honored to support organizations like Paws of War that make a meaningful difference in the lives of our veterans. Thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to this worthy cause.

5/19/2026, A 38-YEAR-OLD MALE FROM HEMPSTEAD, NY ON AN OPEN NASSAU COUNTY FAMILY COURT WARRANT.
5/21/2026, A 42-YEAR-OLD MALE FROM AMITYVILLE, NY ON AN OPEN NASSAU COUNTY FAMILY COURT WARRANT.

It is with deep sorrow that the Nassau County Sheriff’s Department announces the untimely passing of Correction Officer Dylan Hussey.
During this difficult time, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Officer Hussey’s family, friends, and fellow members of the Sheriff’s Department. We ask that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers as they mourn this tremendous loss.

The Nassau County Sheriff's Department proudly celebrates the graduation of Correction Officer Class 116.
Twelve recruits successfully completed an intensive 625-hour training academy that included legal instruction, physical training, academic coursework, de-escalation techniques, use-of-force procedures, fi****ms training, and crowd control tactics.
Beginning their journey on February 13, 2026, as 12 individuals, they now graduate as one unified team — prepared to serve with professionalism, integrity, and dedication to the safety of Nassau County.
