Each year during National Friends of the Library Week, The Friends of FDL present the library with a donation that will help support programs and services. This year's check will help fund our 2027 Music in the Park series! Yesterday, they also provided lunch for the library staff from Carl's Bakery. We are so grateful for the group's kindness and generosity. Support the Friends, support the library!

The Friends of Fondulac District Library operate our ongoing book sale. While items were previously priced individually with suggested donations, you may now offer an at-will donation for any books and materials!

The Friends accept year-round donations of used books, DVDs, books on CD, and other media (even jigsaw puzzles!). Items should be in good condition. Please limit donations to two boxes/bags at a time. Donations can be dropped off during regular business hours at the library's Circulation Desk, or at our drive-up window. October 18-24 is National Friends of the Library Week! The Friends of Fondulac District Library will be here Wednesday, October 21 with holiday cards available to sign for troops in the military. They will have a table set up outside of the Youth Services Department 10 a.m-2 p.m. and 4-6 p.m. Support the Friends, support the library!

Election Day is just about two weeks away, so itโ€™s time to learn more about how the library funding referendum appears on the ballot. The question, titled โ€œFondulac Public Library Proposition To Increase Limiting Tax Rate,โ€ appears on the second page (back) of the ballot. While the question asks whether to increase its limiting tax rate, the proposition was designed to have no impact on the Libraryโ€™s overall rate because the bond rate would be removed at the same time.

Upon learning of her passing, we'd like to take a moment to remember and honor Sue Herring, a true library leader in central Illinois. Not only did she have an impactful career at Peoria Public Library, she also served our community as a Trustee for Fondulac District Library for many years, including during the current building's planning and construction.
