Fall is for fescue! 💚

A greener, healthier lawn starts this fall. Unlike warm-season lawns, fescue thrives in cooler temperatures. September and October are prime months in Georgia for establishing, overseeding and repairing tall fescue lawns.

Your Fall Fescue Checklist:
• Overseed thin or bare areas
• Core aerate compacted soil
• Test your soil before applying lime or fertilizer
• Maintain a mowing height around 2–3 inches
• Provide adequate water when rainfall is limited
• Keep an eye on fall and winter weeds
• Check herbicide labels before applying products

What you do now can help determine how thick, green and healthy your lawn looks throughout the cooler season.

We had so much fun at our annual Fall Fest with 4-H at the Atlanta History Center! Youth shared their sparks with musical performances, public speaking, and exhibits. Towns County won our pumpkin decorating contest (their pumpkins listed their individual programs within their county!). We already can’t wait for next year 🍂
