East Providence residents… please consider taking our Hazard Mitigation Survey! See the link below for the survey and an explanation. In short, this plan (among other things) identifies projects that can help reduce impacts from flooding, coastal high water, and other naturally occurring issues; and makes these projects eligible for certain federal funding. Long-term environmental benefits often result, especially with regard to stormwater flooding and drainage into the bay.
Thank you!

A small but industrious group from the Commission cleaned up a very rough woodland trail built partly for utility access at the east end of Kent Heights Park. The loop includes a lengthy grass path along the southern edge of the property to the right of the courts, then turns left and winds through the woods, coming out near the dog park. Distance is about 6/10 of a mile. The Commission will do some more work here during the fall. As always, trail use is at your own risk. This will be a nice addition to the City’s trail inventory!

The Commission held our annual Boyden Heights cove cleanup this morning. Lots of plastic bottles of all types this year, more than usual! Seven bags of stuff were collected along with other various flotsam and jetsam. Thanks to the DPW Recycling Division for their support!

REMINDER: We will be having our Earth Day cleanup this Saturday morning (4/18) at 9am at Boyden Heights!
