Onset Fire Rescue Onset Fire Department "The Desire to Serve, The Courage to Act, The Ability to Perform" Onset is a census-designated place in the town of Wareham.

The Onset Fire Department is located at 41°44′47″N 70°39′48″W in Southeast Massachusetts approximately 60 miles south of Boston. We have a population of 1,573 residents living in an area of 1.30 sq miles. We operate out of two stations. Our Department has 6 full time firefighters and 54 call firefighters

🚨🚨Important Weather 🚨🚨

Saturday’s Harvest Moon Festival has been postponed until October 11th due to the incoming Nor’Easter. This storm is expected to bring heavy rain and strong winds to our area.

Please exercise all caution regarding this storm as it can be unpredictable. The storm is expected to begin sometime Friday and not end until possibly Monday. Be aware of falling trees and branches, flooded roadways and down power lines. Do Not attempt to drive through flooded roads or over downed lines!!!

Please plan ahead for power outages, including making sure elderly neighbors and family have items they may need for a couple of days.

If you have an EMERGENCY, call 911. If you do not have an emergency, such as losing internet or power, please Do Not call 911. There are non-emergency phone numbers for police, fire and EMS departments. The Onset Fire Department is up staffing in preparation for the storm should any calls for emergency occur.

Today we honor and remember the nearly 3,000 people lost in the terrorist attacks 25 years ago, including 343 firefighters, 37 Port Authority Police Officers, 23 NYPD Officers, and over a dozen other 1st responders, plus over 600 of line-of-duty deaths from 9/11 related illnesses.
