⚠️ SEVERE WEATHER REMINDER — PLEASE STAY SAFE ⚠️

The Washington area is currently experiencing heavy rain and thunderstorms, with the potential for life-threatening flash flooding. A Flash Flood Warning is currently in effect, and additional heavy rainfall is possible.

We are asking residents to stay home and avoid unnecessary travel whenever possible. If you must be on the road, use extreme caution and be alert for rapidly rising water, flooded roadways, and debris.

🚨 NEVER drive through a flooded roadway. Turn around—don’t drown. Even a small amount of moving water can sweep a vehicle off the road.

Please keep yourself, your family, and our first responders safe by staying off the roads unless travel is necessary.

Stay home. Stay safe. Stay weather aware.

For emergencies, call 911.

🇺🇸 NEVER FORGET — 9/11/2001 🇺🇸

Today, we pause to remember the families who lost loved ones, the heroes who gave everything, and the spirit of unity that brought our country together.

We remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and honor the courage and sacrifice of the first responders, military members, and ordinary Americans who answered the call during one of our nation’s darkest days.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget. 🇺🇸

🚸 School Zones & School Bus Safety in Pennsylvania 🚌

As students head back to school, please slow down and stay alert in school zones and around school buses. When a school bus has its red lights flashing and stop arm extended, traffic must stop as required by Pennsylvania law.

Watch carefully for children crossing the road, obey posted speed limits, eliminate distractions, and give school buses plenty of room.

A special good luck and best wishes to all the students, teachers, staff, and families at Faith Christian Academy and Washington School District as they start another school year! 📚✏️

We hope everyone has a safe, successful, and wonderful year ahead!

A few extra seconds of caution can save a child’s life. SLOW DOWN. BE ALERT. SAVE LIVES.

Please share this reminder and help us keep our kids safe!

🚔 Vehicle Security Reminder 🔒

We have received reports of vehicle break-ins occurring overnight. We are reminding residents to take a few simple precautions to help protect themselves and their property.

Please lock your vehicles every night, even when parked in your driveway, and avoid leaving valuables, fi****ms, electronics, wallets, or other important items inside your vehicle.

Many vehicle break-ins are crimes of opportunity. Taking a few extra seconds to secure your vehicle can make a big difference.

Please remain alert and report any suspicious activity to the police department. Stay safe!
