response to ANONYMOUS and FALSE accusations circulating social media
East Windsor Ambulance Association takes great pride in the service we provide to our community, the professionalism of our employees, and our responsibility to the residents who depend on us 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
We typically do not respond to anonymous accusations on social media. However, when inaccurate information is circulated about our organization and its employees, we believe the community deserves clarification.
Let us be absolutely clear: ZERO East Windsor Ambulance Association employees have been suspended for scheduling issues or any other reason. The suggestion that a quarter of our workforce has been suspended is simply false.
In fact, East Windsor Ambulance Association has one of the most lenient employee call-out procedures, if not the most lenient, of any employer in Connecticut. We recognize that emergencies happen, employees have families, and unexpected circumstances arise. We work hard to accommodate our employees while maintaining our responsibility to the community.
However, there is another side to staffing that often goes unnoticed.
When employees call out at the last minute, the consequences extend well beyond filling an empty spot on the schedule.
Last-minute call-outs can result in increased overtime expenses, reduced ambulance availability, and lost revenue. These challenges create a ripple effect throughout the organization, impacting our employees, our operational budget, and ultimately the emergency medical services available to East Windsor residents.
Unlike many workplaces, an unexpected staffing shortage in emergency medical services can directly impact our ability to respond to someone calling 911.
That is why scheduling, attendance, and accountability matter. They are not simply administrative concerns. They are essential to maintaining reliable emergency medical coverage for our community.
We also find it disappointing that these accusations were made through an anonymous Facebook account, rather than through a direct conversation with our organization’s leadership. Anyone with legitimate questions or concerns is welcome to raise them through the appropriate channels. Anonymous speculation presented as fact does nothing to support our employees or the residents we serve.
As for our recent hiring announcement, recruiting qualified EMTs, AEMTs, and Paramedics is part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining a strong, dependable emergency medical service. Hiring should not be mistaken for evidence of disciplinary action.
We remain proud of our dedicated employees who show up, answer the call, and provide professional emergency medical care to our neighbors every day.
Our priority has not changed since 1978: providing dependable emergency medical services to the East Windsor community.
