🚒 Training Makes the Difference. 🚒
Tonight, firefighters from Eastanollee Fire Department and Carnes Creek Fire Department came together for an intensive vehicle extrication training, sharpening the skills that save lives when every second counts.
Under the leadership of Captain Quentin Mitchell and Captain Kyle Sappah, firefighters trained on a variety of rescue techniques designed to safely and efficiently remove victims from heavily damaged vehicles. Crews operated multiple pieces of rescue equipment, including hydraulic and battery-powered extrication tools (“Jaws of Life”), while also practicing manual hand-tool techniques for situations where power tools may not be the safest or most effective option.
While mastering equipment is critical, tonight’s greatest focus was on the patient. Every cut, every move, and every decision was centered on providing the highest level of patient care—protecting the victim from further injury, reducing extrication time, and delivering them safely into the hands of EMS.
Training alongside neighboring departments strengthens more than our skills—it builds trust, communication, and the teamwork that is essential when multiple agencies respond to the same emergency. By learning together, we ensure that when our communities need us most, we respond as one coordinated team.
Because when lives are on the line, excellence isn’t an accident—it is the result of training, teamwork, and an unwavering commitment to those we serve. 🚒
