Easton Book Festival in partnership with; Southside Easton Community Library and in Collaboration with the Boys & Girls Club of Easton – Presents: Children’s Day!

The Boys & Girls Club Easton is proud to be a part of the Easton Book Festival and delighted to be one of the hosts sites on Sunday, October 18, 2026 between 1PM and 4PM.

We are excited to acknowledge the partnership with the organizers of the book festival, and also the Easton Area School District one of the Clubs community partners and collaborators who presented our organization but more than 150 bucks that will be shared on Sunday, October 18 between 1 PM and 4 PM at the Boys & Girls Club headquarters located at 210 Jones Houston Way in Southside Easton PA.

"This is an awesome time for family and children to spend some quality time meeting authors of children's books, and again take away some of the incredible amazing children’s books for home reading and sharing with friends." - Dean Young

Looking forward to a fun and spooky Halloween pizza-making class during the return of Ms. Cindy!

Club members pitched in this evening, they setup the kitchen with cooking supplies and went shopping for ingredients required for Thursday’s baking class October 15, (5pm to 7pm) under the direction of Ms. Cindy. The class of 11 club members are making Halloween Personal Pizza.

Ingredients:
- 7 cans Pillsbury pizza crust (to make 2 personal pizzas per can)
- 2 jars pizza sauce
- 3 bags shredded mozzarella cheese (8 oz each)
- 1 pack string cheese (for mummy decorating)
- 1 container grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 packs pepperoni slices
- 1 small jar sliced black olives (for making spider pizzas)
- Halloween edible candy eyes
- 2 green bell peppers ( for decorating)

Supplies:
- 3 pizza cutters
- Parchment paper or aluminum foil
- Disposable gloves
- Paper plates
- Napkins and paper towels
-Plastic spoons

The Boys & Girls Club of Easton is dedicated to convening citywide experts to ensure strategies and best practices are in place, keeping safety for kids first and foremost. Our emphasis is on maintaining the Neston Heights community, as well as the grounds and indoor facilities at the Boys & Girls Club of Easton, as safe and conducive environments for learning, fun, and growth.

We are pleased to announce the synergy of experts whose insights will be the driving force of our expanded safety committee. This committee includes representatives from:

- The Easton Police Department (EPD)
- The Housing Authority
- City of Easton Representatives
- The Easton Fire Department
- City of Easton Parks & Recreation
- The Arborist City of Easton Office
- Members of the Boys & Girls Club Board of Directors
- Neston Heights Management Office & Maintenance (representing Pennrose)
- Executive Director of the Boys & Girls Club of Easton

Most recently, the safety committee conducted a walk-through of the Neston Heights neighborhood and the interior of the Boys & Girls Club of Easton on Monday, September 28, 2026. The committee made recommendations—some minor and some necessary to address immediately—to enhance safety for everyone who visits our facilities and the surrounding community.

Our group will meet on a quarterly basis, with the next scheduled meeting set for January 25, 2027, at 1:00pm.

Boys and Girls Club of Easton lead agency - Goal & Vision for the Expanded Safety Committee:

· The BGCE Safety Committee’s purpose is to lead and maintain a culture of safety for everyone who walks through the B&GCE doors and as they navigate the walkways around and about the Neston Heights Community.
· The Boys & Girls Club of Easton’s goal encompasses ensuring the physical, emotional, and programmatic well-being of youth, staff, volunteers, and visitors through governance, policy oversight, and risk management.
· Creating and sustaining a culture of safety that protects all members of the community.

Under the guidance and direction of Ms. Whitney Frazier, our STEAM and STEM Coordinator, club members have been diving into today’s STEAM and STEM sessions. Currently, they are learning fascinating facts about dinosaurs, exploring when they existed and how they lived millions of years ago.

Basic Dinosaur Facts
Dinosaurs are a group of reptiles that have lived on Earth for about 245 million years.
In 1842, the English naturalist Sir Richard Owen coined the term Dinosauria, derived from the Greek deinos, meaning “fearfully great,” and sauros, meaning “lizard.”
Dinosaur fossils have been found on all seven continents.
All non-avian dinosaurs went extinct about 66 million years ago.
There are roughly 700 known species of extinct dinosaurs.
Modern birds are a kind of dinosaur because they share a common ancestor with non-avian dinosaurs.

Our club continues to be a safe, positive place open to all youth from kindergarten through 12th grade. For any new or interested members, tours can easily be scheduled throughout the day. Please call us at (484) 239-2075 or (610) 703-8575 to arrange a visit.

Our club members and staff have also been hard at work decorating the interior of the club with a Halloween theme for everyone to enjoy. A glimpse of their great work and the wonderful results are captured in the attached photographs, giving you a preview of what parents, visitors, and members will see when entering our house of Goodwill located at 210 Jones Houston Way in Southside Easton Pennsylvania.

This week's happenings:

1. Registration is still open for the Iron Pigs Suites N Treats trick-or-treat outing for Thursday, October 22nd. There is $5 "refundable" fee and a parent consent form due. The deadline is Friday, October 16th so hurry in to register. This is not an opportunity you want to miss! Costumes are recommended as this is a Halloween-themed event with candy and other giveaways.

2. Dodgeball continues on Wednesday, 10/14/26, 4pm until 5:30pm at the B&GCE with club Volunteer, Franklin Tejada-Martinez.

3. Ms. Cindy, our Baking Class Instructor, is returning to the B&GCE to present fun, classic themes. This Thursday, October 15th (5:00 PM – 7:00 PM) will be the first session making Halloween-Themed Personal Pizzas.

4. The FREE food giveaways continue on Saturday from Wegmans and Sunday from ShopRite- all held at the B&GCE Headquarters located at 210 Jones Houston Way in Southside between 10am and 11am.

On behalf of the Boys & Girls Club of Easton, our staff, and all of our Club members, I want to extend our heartfelt thanks to you, the Buffalo Wild Wings establishment, and all of your associates for your generous support of our meal program today, Monday, October 12, 2026.

When school is out, having a little extra helping hand makes a huge difference in ensuring our members enjoy quality time and a good meal together. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed today's delicious spread of bone-in and boneless Buffalo Wild Wings, potato wedges, celery, carrots, and your famous sauces.

We especially appreciate you taking the time to personally deliver these meals to our Club at 210 Jones Houston Way. Your continued support of our efforts during the school year means so much to our organization and the youth we serve.

The Boys & Girls Club of Easton is open on Monday, October 12, 2026!

Below is What's UP!

There's no school for "Indigenous Peoples Day," but the club is open between 3pm and 8:45pm for all grades (K-12th) for the duration of the day.

The club will be ordering Buffalo Wild Wings for dinner! Tours can be scheduled throughout the day for new, interested members. Call (484) 239-2075 or (610) 703-8575 to arrange it.

At ShopRite Bethlehem assisted by Tony T. Harrison helping hands volunteer with the Boys & Girls Club of Easton and Tenesha Lopez front end associated at Shoprite Bethlehem.

We gathered the food donations consisting of a wide variety of food goods, including vegetables, fruit, prepared meals, and extraordinary volume of delicious and healthy food products to giveaway during this morning Free Food Giveaway Sunday, October 11, 2026. For those who are unfamiliar the Free Food Giveaway takes place at the Boys & Girls Club Easton located at 210 Jones Houston Way in Southside Easton and the new Neston Heights community.

Today’s Free Food Giveaway is a rain or shiny event doors do not open until 10 AM. In The Free Food Giveaway concludes at 11 AM if you’re in need we hope to see you then.

Dear Community Members because no one should go hungry or without affordable food at your table, this morning‘s, Free Food Giveaway is rain or shine doors do not open until 10 AM and the Free Food Giveaway concludes at 11 AM sharp.

Join us today, October 11, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM for our Free Food Giveaway at the Boys & Girls Club of Easton (210 Jones Houston Way, in Southside Easton).

All community members are welcome.

Free items typically include produce, dairy, prepared meals, meat, bread, fruit, and vegetables. This event is hosted in collaboration with ShopRite Bethlehem and the ShopRite Partners In Caring initiative to help reduce local hunger.
