Please welcome the newest member of our Funhouse Team, Maureen Bowler is our new Development Director!

Originally from Philadelphia, Mo began her journey in public service in 2015 with AmeriCorps’ City Year Philadelphia, where she was introduced to the value of working in service to a cause greater than self. Inspired by the power of the collective, Mo has spent more than a decade working with communities to develop and implement programs centered on promoting equity, stewardship, and wellness. After living and working at Camp Orkila for four wonderful years, Mo left Orcas in 2021 to pursue new opportunities and is thrilled to be returning to the island and joining the team at the Funhouse. Mo received her Master’s in Public Administration in 2024 from Marist College, where she was able to deepen her understanding of the theories and strategies of public sector management. When she’s not beautifying spreadsheets, Mo can usually be found cooking, writing, or spending time with her husband and dog.

Rainbow Club: Our club for LGBTQIA+ teens and allies has changed times and days. We are now meeting every Friday from 3:30-5pm upstairs at the Funhouse. Our Rec & Tech room is also open for middle schoolers during that time. Rainbow club is a casual social space where middle schoolers can hang out, eat, craft, connect with each other and be themselves.
