Scholars in Mrs. Harkins' Read 180 classroom recently enjoyed a nutritious and delicious surprise thanks to Mrs. Carr, who visited the class and brought fresh kiwi fruit for everyone to sample.

The scholars were excited to try the vibrant green fruit, and it quickly became a classroom favorite. Many students enjoyed the kiwi's sweet and tangy flavor, while others were eager to learn about its nutritional benefits. Packed with vitamins, antioxidants, and fiber, kiwi is a healthy snack that supports overall wellness and healthy habits.

Mrs. Carr took time to share information about the fruit and encourage scholars to make nutritious food choices. Her thoughtful visit provided both a fun tasting experience and an opportunity for students to learn about healthy eating.

The scholars greatly appreciated Mrs. Carr's generosity and enthusiasm. Her visit brought smiles, sparked curiosity, and helped make healthy nutrition an exciting topic in the Read 180 classroom. It was truly a memorable experience that the students will not soon forget.

What’s the recipe for a great story?

Today, the PCMS Learning Commons was cooking up something special with author and screenwriter Michael Lucker!

Students in Mrs. McElvey’s classes rolled up their sleeves for an immersive writers’ workshop and discovered the essential ingredients behind a great movie or narrative:

A scoop of GENRE
Add a memorable HERO
Mix in a worthy VILLAIN
Raise the STAKES
Stir in a meaningful THEME
Top it all off with the perfect TITLE

Mix those ingredients together, add plenty of imagination, and you’ve got the beginnings of a winning movie pitch and, ultimately, a great story!

We are incredibly grateful for the partnership between PCCSS and the Georgia Writers Museum, which continues to bring talented authors and storytellers into our schools and gives our students opportunities to learn firsthand from professionals who make their living through the written word.

Today, our students weren’t just talking about stories. They were learning how to build them.

We may be a day late, but our appreciation lasts all year!

Yesterday was Instructional Coaches Appreciation Day, and we couldn’t let it pass without celebrating our amazing instructional coaches, Mrs. Teresa Rhodes and Mr. Michael Smith.

Thank you for encouraging, collaborating, problem-solving, sharing ideas, and always being ready to help our teachers and students succeed. Your support makes a difference every single day!

The H.E.A.R.T. award is given by the district to one of our classified employees each month. This month's award was earned by our own Ms. Eberle. Read below for the reasons why Ms. Eberle deserves this award. Congratulations!
Today, we have the privilege of recognizing someone who truly embodies the spirit of service, teamwork, and dedication that makes Putnam County Middle School such a special place. It is my honor to celebrate Ms. Jessica Eberle.
Jessica originally joined the PCMS family in 2022 as our ISS Para Support. From the moment she arrived, she demonstrated a strong commitment to our students and a willingness to do whatever was needed to help our school succeed. Although she stepped away from PCMS for a brief period, we are incredibly grateful that she has returned this year, bringing back the same positive attitude, strong work ethic, and servant-hearted approach that made such an impact before.
One of her greatest strengths is her flexibility. In particular, every day middle school presents new challenges, unexpected situations, and opportunities to serve. Ms. Eberle never hesitates when a need arises. Whether it is supporting administration, assisting teachers, stepping in to help students, or taking on responsibilities outside of her usual role, she does so with professionalism, positivity, and a smile. She understands that being part of a school team means working together for the common good, and she consistently puts the needs of our school community first.
Ms. Eberle is also remarkably adaptable. She adjusts quickly to changing circumstances and approaches every task with a solution-oriented mindset. No matter the challenge, she remains calm, reliable, and ready to help. Her ability to pivot when needed and maintain a positive attitude is a tremendous asset to our staff and students.
What stands out most about Ms. Eberle is her willingness to serve. She is the type of person who responds with, "How can I help?" before anyone even has to ask. She supports administration, collaborates with teachers, and most importantly, builds positive relationships with students. Her genuine care for others and commitment to doing what is best for children does not go unnoticed. She is a team player in every sense of the word and represents the very best of what it means to be a member of the PCMS family.
Her contributions may not always be the most visible, but they are certainly among the most valuable. Schools thrive because of dedicated individuals like her who are willing to step up, fill gaps, and ensure that students and staff have what they need to be successful.
Ms. Eberle, your PCMS family is truly excited to have you back home at Putnam County Middle School. Thank you for your flexibility, your adaptability, your servant leadership, and your commitment to our staff and students. We are better because you are here, and we are grateful for the positive difference you make every single day.
Please join me in congratulating Ms. Jessica Eberle. Your hard work, dedication, and heart for service are greatly appreciated and richly deserved.
Congratulations, Ms. Eberle!
