A whole Kansas town stopped on Monday to say goodbye to a kindergartner.

Cole Adrian, 6, was a student at Roosevelt Elementary School in McPherson. His funeral was held at 10 a.m. at the Free Methodist Church of McPherson, followed by a private graveside service.

McPherson Public Schools closed for the day.

The district did it so students, teachers and staff could attend. The church planned overflow seating across the street at Greer Auditorium, and the service was livestreamed for anyone who could not be there.

Cole died on October 17 in the crash at the Stryker Sports Complex in Wichita, where a pickup drove onto a youth soccer field.

Another person from McPherson, Nicholas Schafer, 35, also died.

The family asked mourners to honor Cole by wearing his favorite kinds of clothing.

Soccer jerseys, blue and camouflage were all welcome. They asked that memorials be made out directly to the Adrian family and said flowers were welcome.

Police have not announced a charging decision, and the investigation continues.

If you could tell Cole's classmates one thing as they return to school, what would you say?

Goodnight 🌙

Large male kangaroos have chest and shoulder muscles so developed that they look like bodybuilders.

In fights over a mate or status, males grab each other with their front limbs, rise up on their tails and kick with their hind legs.

But here’s the thing about that comparison : despite their sometimes similar appearance, kangaroos and deer belong to very different groups of mammals. Kangaroos are marsupials, meaning females raise their young in a pouch on their bellies, while deer are placental mammals.

So, in the end, calling kangaroos “deer that have done time in prison” might not be too far off when it comes to their looks… even if, evolutionarily speaking, they have absolutely nothing in common !
