Bruceville-Eddy Vol. Fire & Rescue

10/11/2026

The 2026 Annual Fish Fry Fundraiser was not just a success, ya'll knocked it out of the park! This year was the largest participation in any Fundraiser we have ever done. The most plates served. The most auction items donated. The most raffle tickets sold. Great response to our first car show and above all, the most monetary donations we have received. The team can't thank you enough for the generous support that is continued to be given. This Fundraiser will go a long way in maintaining the essential services we are able to provide Bruceville-Eddy and allow us to purchase much needed equipment.

We have to say a special thank you to those who also helped serve today. We couldn't do it without you.

The Fish Fry Fundraiser is quickly approaching. Don't forget about the live auction! Each year the auction grows and the items that have been donated this year are awesome. From a 70" TV to a custom fire pit to Consuela bags.

All proceeds from the live auction will directly benefit the FD.

On 9/21/2026 at 14:08 we were dispatched to a report of a grass fire next to a house in the 2700 block of Tower Dr. First arriving unit reported 7-10 acres burning and called for mutial aid and assumed command. Due to the high winds the fire quickly grew promoting a request for more resources and air assets. Although the fire was initially reported at 800 acres, as it was assessed and mapped it was found to be 193.1 acres and the West Fork Fire is 100% contained.

I can't thank those who helped enough for this one. We say it all the time but it's true, mutual aid and great relationships are what make fires like this a success with quick extinguishment.

I also have to say thank you to the Bruceville-Eddy and Moody community for the generous donations (and anyone else in the area that has helped). Unfortunately, 3 of our vehicles broke on this fire and are in need of repair. We are working on getting them back in service. I know our Fish Fry is coming up on October 10th but if anyone would like to donate to the FD to help with these repairs you have no idea how much that would be appreciated!

Here is the list of everyone that was on the West Fork Fire. If I left anyone out please let me know.

Our favorite day of the year is almost here! The Annual Fish Fry! This year on top of some the best fish in the state (in our opinion😉) we are once again having a live auction and gun raffle. New for 2026 is a car show open to anything and everything. Saturday October 10, 2026. Your fire department is looking forward to seeing each of you once again.

This morning at 02:46 we were dispatched to a report of a large grass fire with structures threatened in the area of Hodge Rd and Northline Rd. Upon arrival we found several acres on fire and it had jumped to both sides of Hodge Rd with no structures threatened. We received mutual aid from Lorena Fire Department and Moody Volunteer Fire Department and we're able to stop the spread of the fire in 42 minutes from time of dispatch.

We are very thankful this fire was contained as it was. It is dry out there. Please be careful in you outdoor activities and remember we are under a burn ban currently.

Also thank you to Mclennan County Sheriff's Office and Moody Police Department for your assistance.
