Opera Club: Thomas’s "Hamlet"🎭
Sunday, October 18th, 1:00-4:30 PM

Though most of opera's Shakespeare adaptations have been long lost to history, Ambroise Thomas's "Hamlet" (1868) has survived, thanks to its lush and stirring score paired with a riveting storyline. This production, recorded live in 2003, stars English baritone Simon Keenlyside, mesmerizing in the title role, and French coloratura soprano Natalie Dessay as Ophelie. Bertrand de Billy conducts the Orchestra and Chorus of the Gran Teatre del Liceu, Barcelona.

Sung in French with English subtitles, the opera runs three and a half hours, including intermission. All adults are welcome.
