🏈💜💛 BULLDOG FOOTBALL IS BACK AT HOME! 💛💜🏈

It's been a few weeks since we've had a home game, so we want to take a minute to remind everyone of a few important rules at IT James Memorial Stadium.

We love seeing our Bulldog families come out to support our teams, but we need everyone's help keeping our stadium safe and enjoyable for ALL spectators!

🚨 A FEW RULES WE REALLY NEED EVERYONE TO REMEMBER:

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 ADULT SUPERVISION IS REQUIRED! All elementary, intermediate, and middle school students MUST be accompanied by an adult. Friday night football games are not drop-off events for younger students.

🏈 NO PLAYING OR THROWING BALLS! Footballs, other balls, and anything being used in place of a ball are NOT allowed in the stadium. This includes throwing objects back and forth or playing catch in spectator areas.

🚫 NO PLAYING IN RESTRICTED AREAS! Students and spectators should not be playing under the scoreboard, near the concession stand, or underneath the bleachers.

💜 STUDENTS MUST REMAIN ON THE HOME SIDE! Please help us make sure students are staying where they belong.

🚶 KEEP WALKWAYS CLEAR! Please do not congregate near the concession stand, block sidewalks or ramps, or run through spectator areas.

We ask that parents and guardians help us by reviewing these expectations with their children BEFORE arriving at the stadium and actively supervising them throughout the game.

Friday nights are about cheering on our Bulldogs, enjoying time with our community, and making memories! Let's work together to keep the focus on the FIELD and make game night a great experience for everyone!

💜💛 It's , and we're continuing our Week 3 celebration of National Principals Month! 💛💜

🎓 This week's question: What were you involved in during high school?

Next up is our PK–8 Assistant Principal, Mr. Jeff Mason!

🏈🏀⚾ Football, basketball, and baseball kept Mr. Mason busy during his high school years, but the lessons he learned went far beyond the playing field!

From teamwork and communication to character, work ethic, and overcoming challenges, Mr. Mason shares how his experiences in athletics helped shape the person and leader he is today.

Take a look at what he had to say!

💜💛 It's , and we're celebrating Week 3 of National Principals Month! 💛💜

We've got another fun question for our principals this week, and this one takes us back to their high school days!

🎓 This week's question: What were you involved in during high school?

First up is our PK–5 Principal, Mrs. Emily Fulwood, Class of 2001!

From varsity tennis and UIL competitions to music, horses, and Friday night football games, Mrs. Fulwood stayed busy! 🎾🎶🐴

Take a look at what she shared about her high school years and how those experiences helped shape the leader she is today!

Check out this WOW from Coach Harper...

"Our students had a blast playing the Bozo Challenge in PE! Students practiced their aim, coordination, and color recognition as they worked to toss each bean bag into the hula hoop that matched its color!

This fun game was all about focus, accuracy, and doing your best! 💪 We love seeing our students learning, moving, and having fun together!"

Here's a WOW from Ms. Osborne...

"Third graders in Ms.Osborne's class are putting their reading and writing skills to work in the most exciting way! After reading two stories about pen pals and learning how to write a letter, our students put their new skills to the test by writing their VERY FIRST letters to their 9th grade Bulldog pen pals from Mrs. Tyner's class!

This fun and engaging learning experience gives students an authentic reason to read, write, communicate, and build meaningful connections across grade levels. We’ll exchange letters once a month throughout the school year, and the excitement will continue when our pen pals finally meet in person at the end of the year!

Who knew writing a letter could create such a BIG connection? We can’t wait to see these friendships grow, one letter at a time!"

Here's a WOW from the Fourth Grade...

Last Tuesday, our Edgewood Fourth Graders headed to Canton for Van Zandt County Ag Day, where nearly 400 fourth graders from surrounding communities came together for a day of hands-on learning through Van Zandt Farm Bureau’s Ag in the Classroom!
Students started the day learning about the dairy industry with the Southwest Dairy Museum, including a live milking demonstration with Chloe the Jersey cow! 🐄🥛

From there, students rotated through ten different sessions and learned about 4-H, soil erosion, bees, wildlife, beef cattle, swine, horses, cotton, and grains including corn, sorghum, and wheat. They even put their knowledge to the test with a little Vegetable BINGO! 🌽🐝🐴🌱

And one Edgewood student had an EXTRA exciting day, winning the raffle for a brand-new bicycle! 🚲🎉

What a great opportunity for our students to learn more about agriculture, where our food and resources come from, and the important role agriculture plays right here in our community.
