📸💙💛 HELP. WE NEED YEARBOOK PEOPLE. LIKE… ACTUALLY NEED THEM. 💛💙📸

Do you want to make a **lifelong impact on Northwood kids**…

…but also really enjoy being at home in your pajamas?

**WE HAVE THE VOLUNTEER JOB FOR YOU.** 😂🙌

Northwood PTA is in desperate need of a **YEARBOOK COMMITTEE!**

And here's the best part:

🏠 **You could help with this without ever setting foot inside the school.**

Seriously.

Help collect photos.
Help organize them.
Help design pages.
Help put together the story of our kids' 2026–2027 school year.

All while sitting on your couch, drinking coffee, watching Netflix and wondering how these children managed to take 47 nearly identical pictures. 😂

And what you're creating actually MATTERS.

These aren't decorations we'll throw away in June.

**These are yearbooks our kids may still be flipping through when they're 30, 40 or 50 years old.** ❤️

They'll see their friends.

Their teachers.

Their terrible elementary-school haircuts.

The events they loved.

And little pieces of childhood they probably would've forgotten otherwise.

📸 **BONUS:** If you're someone who LOVES photography and wants an excuse to come to Northwood events and take pictures…

PLEASE COME FIND US. WE LOVE YOU ALREADY.😂

We would LOVE someone capturing events throughout the year, but being an event photographer is absolutely NOT required.

We need people who can help from home just as much.

So if you've been wanting to volunteer but work, younger kids, schedules, or life make being at school difficult…

THIS ONE IS FOR YOU.

👇 Comment below, message Northwood PTA, or email:

📧 [email protected]

💙💛⚔️ Please help us make a yearbook these kids will embarrassingly show their own children someday.😂📸

🎨💙💛 WE NEED AN ART DOCENT CHAIR! 💛💙🎨

Before you say…

“But I can't draw.”

Perfect. Neither can half of us. 😂

We're looking for someone to help keep Northwood's Art Docent program organized and our kids creating!

🖌️ Help coordinate classroom Art Docents
🎨 Keep volunteers connected
📦 Help manage supplies
🖼️ Support our art activities and celebrations
❤️ Encourage a whole lot of little artists

You do NOT need to be Picasso.

You just need to like kids, creativity, and be willing to help us prevent the art supplies from descending into complete chaos. 😂

Interested?

🎨⚔️ **Come make some masterpieces and memories with our Northwood Knights!** 💙💛

💙💛NORTHWOOD… WE'RE STILL LOOKING FOR THREE AWESOME HUMANS!💛💙

Want to help Northwood PTA but *don't want a year-long commitment?*

We may have the perfect job for you. 👀

⚔️ **We need THREE PTA members to serve on our Nominating Committee!**

This is a **short-term volunteer role** with one very important mission:

**Help us find the people who will lead Northwood PTA next.** 💙

You'll work together to review interested candidates, have a few conversations, consider qualifications, and recommend a slate of candidates to our PTA membership.

That's it.

No running school events.
No weekly volunteering.
No joining the board.
No secret PTA degree required. 😂

We just need three people who are **fair, trustworthy, able to maintain confidentiality, and care about the future of Northwood PTA.**

✨ It's meaningful.
✨ It's manageable.
✨ And then **YOU'RE DONE.** 😂🙌

Interested?

⚔️💙💛Three people. Short-term commitment. BIG impact. Who's in?

🎨💙💛 **PARENTS… THIS ONE MIGHT BE JUST AS MUCH FOR YOU.** 💛💙🎨

We've been talking a lot about this year's PTA Reflections theme:

✨ **“WHAT MY CULTURE MEANS TO ME”** ✨

But here's something we haven't talked about enough…

**What might YOU get out of doing this with your child?**

This is an opportunity to sit down together and talk about things we don't always make time to talk about.

❤️ Where did our family come from?
❤️ What traditions do we have and why?
❤️ What did Grandma or Grandpa teach us?
❤️ What foods, music, celebrations or stories belong to our family?
❤️ What parts of our culture matter most to YOU?

And then comes the really cool part:

**You get to see your family through your child's eyes.**

Their answer may be completely different from what you expect.

Maybe they'll create something beautiful.

Maybe they'll discover something about their heritage they never knew.

Maybe you'll pull out old photographs, call Grandma, cook something together or tell a family story you haven't told in years.

**That's what can come from one little art project.** ❤️

And if your child wants to participate but you're sitting there thinking…

*"Okay, this sounds amazing, but we have NO IDEA what to make."* 😂

**EMAIL US!**

We would LOVE to meet with you, brainstorm ideas, help you get started, or help with supplies if you need them.

You can also look through past PTA Reflections entries for inspiration and see just how many different ways kids have told their stories.

📧 [email protected]

Don't worry about creating the “perfect” entry.

**Start with a conversation.**

Ask your child tonight:

✨ **“What does our culture mean to YOU?”** ✨

Then listen.

Because their answer might teach you something about your own family, too. ❤️

⚔️💙💛 **Your family's story is worth telling.**

🍿💙💛 **POPCORN FRIDAY IS THIS WEEK!!** 💛💙🍿

Our very first Popcorn Friday of the year is almost here, and **WE NEED VOLUNTEERS!** 🙌

If you've never volunteered for Popcorn Friday before, this is one of the easiest and most fun ways to jump in.

We meet around **8:30 AM**, fire up our two popcorn machines, and then it's basically…

🍿 POP
🍿 PACK
🍿 STICKER
🍿 DELIVER
🍿 REPEAT 😂

And the kids **LOVE IT.**

There's something ridiculously fun about walking through the school with bags and bags of popcorn while kids look at you like you're delivering tiny sacks of gold. 😂

The more volunteers we have, the quicker everything moves. It's a fun, easy morning where you can meet other Northwood parents, help out for a few hours, and make **an entire school full of kids ridiculously happy.**

Can't stay the whole time? **That's okay!** Come help for the time you have.

🙋‍♀️🙋‍♂️ **WE WOULD LOVE TO HAVE YOU!**

👇 Leave a comment below or email us at **[[email protected]](mailto:[email protected])** and we'll get you connected.

Come hang out, make some popcorn, meet some parents and make our Knights' day. 💙

🍿⚔️💛 **The more, the merrier! See you Friday!**

📍 Northwood Elementary Commons
🚪 Doors open at 5:00 PM

We have a LOT happening at this Special General Membership Meeting, and if you've ever wondered when your PTA membership really gives you a voice…
THIS. IS. IT. 🙌

Members will be voting on some pretty big things for the 2026–27 school year, including our:
⚔️ PTA Executive Board
💰 Annual Budget
📋 Standing Rules
🎉 Booster fundraiser partnership
📚 Yearbook & Book Fair contracts
🎬 Movie licensing

➕ Committees and more!

We'll also be sharing updates about Reflections, Fall Fest, our 51st Annual Holiday Boutique, and announcing our FREE YEARBOOK membership winner! 🎉

AND… WE NEED PEOPLE WILLING TO STEP UP FOR OUR PTA BOARD!

Officer nominations will be taken from the floor during the meeting, so if you've been thinking, “Maybe I could do this…”
👀 YES. YOU CAN.

You don't need years of PTA experience. You don't have to have everything figured out. You just need to care about our kids and be willing to get involved. 💙

👯 And yes — elected positions can even be shared by two people.

Not a PTA member yet? You can still join! Membership is open to everyone, and once your Northwood PTA membership is processed in Givebacks, you can participate as a voting member at the meeting.

⚠️ Interested in running for an elected officer position? Candidate eligibility has a separate requirement: candidates must have been members of any Washington State local PTA by September 10, 2026.

💙💛⚔️ HEY NORTHWOOD… WHAT IF IT’S YOU? ⚔️💛💙

Northwood PTA is looking for people who want to get involved, bring ideas to the table, and help shape what our PTA looks like moving forward.

And YES…

🙋‍♀️ YOU CAN NOMINATE YOURSELF.

Actually…

WE ENCOURAGE IT. 😂👏

You do not need someone else to decide you'd be great at this.

You don't need years of PTA experience.

You don't need to know Robert’s Rules of Order in your sleep. 😂

You just need to care about our kids, our school, and our community.

We have a super short questionnaire where you can tell the Nominating Committee a little about yourself and which elected Board position(s) you're interested in.

It takes just a few minutes.

✨ Interested in President? Tell us.
✨ Think you'd make a great VP? Tell us.
✨ Secretary or Treasurer more your speed? Tell us.
✨ Open to more than one position? Tell us that too!

Filling out the form simply lets our Nominating Committee know you're interested and gives them the opportunity to connect with you.

👇 SELF-NOMINATE HERE:

https://forms.gle/85WCfCjRNWfHLzMC8

Then join us for our Special PTA Meeting on September 25, where members will have the opportunity to participate in the election process.

Sometimes the person we're waiting for to step up is sitting there thinking…

“Would they even want me?”

💙 YES. WE DO.

⚔️💛 Different people. Different strengths. Same mission.

Let's build something amazing for our Northwood Knights.

09/11/2026

💙💛⚔️ NORTHWOOD PTA STILL NEEDS A PRESIDENT… BUT HEAR US OUT.⚔️💛💙

Maybe you've thought about it but immediately said:

**“Absolutely not. I cannot do that by myself.”** 😂

Okay.

**What if you didn't have to?**

Northwood PTA is absolutely open to **TWO people sharing the President role.**

Have a friend you work really well with?

One of you is great at organizing and the other loves people?

Maybe you're both thinking, *“I'd do it if YOU did it with me…”* 👀😂

**WE WANT TO TALK TO YOU.**

PTA President isn't about doing everything yourself. It's about helping lead the team, keeping everyone moving in the same direction, communicating, delegating, and making sure our PTA continues doing amazing things for our Northwood kids. 💙

And there are already people here ready to help.

So whether you're interested in serving as President yourself OR you and your PTA bestie want to tackle it together…

**Put your names in.**

Filling out the form isn't a commitment. It simply gets your information to our **Nominating Committee** so they can connect with you, answer questions, and explore whether it might be a good fit.

👇 **INTERESTED? FILL OUT THE FORM HERE:**

https://forms.gle/85WCfCjRNWfHLzMC8

And if you're currently texting another Northwood parent saying:

**“Okay but seriously… would you do this with me?”**

That's probably your sign. 😂💙💛

⚔️ **Our Knights need leadership. You don't have to lead alone.**
