The North Edison Library Rain Garden came to life today with students, volunteers and community partners working side by side.
Over 250 native plants were planted.
Rain gardens help capture stormwater, reduce runoff, filter pollutants and support pollinators with native plants.
A huge THANK YOU to everyone who dug, planted, carried, organized and helped bring this project to life — especially our students and young volunteers.
Special thanks to the Edison Department of Public Works for the tremendous site preparation.
Thank you also to Alrick Rodriguez

Rutgers Water Resources Program, Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Middlesex County, Native Plant Nursery, Edison Township Environmental Commission, Edison Clean Communities, Edison Care, the North Edison Library team, our Green Infrastructure Champions, Mr Wolenter and his students from JP Stevens Environmental Classroom and everyone who contributed plants, materials, knowledge and time.
We have over 450 native plant plugs still to plant next week as we continue building out the rain garden.
