Medical Assistants Recognition Week | October 19–23 🩺

This week, we celebrate and honor our Medical Assistants and the incredible role they play in patient care, our healthcare team, and our community.

Today, on Medical Assistants Recognition Day, we want to take a moment to share just how proud we are of them and how deeply we value all that they do.

Medical Assistants are an essential part of the heartbeat of healthcare. They bring knowledge, compassion, patience, and dedication to every patient interaction, while helping ensure our health center runs with the care and professionalism our patients deserve.

Diana and Prim, thank you for all that you do! Our gratitude for your contributions this year cannot be expressed enough.

Diana, your years of compassion, dedication, and resiliency know no bounds. Your care and commitment to our patients and our team is truly something to be proud of.

Prim, your knowledge, kindness, and dedication have been such a wonderful addition to our team. We are so grateful to have you with us and look forward to the wonderful years ahead.
Today and always, we celebrate you both and the difference you make every day. 💙

On October 8, 2026, NJPCA honored Healthcare Heroes across New Jersey. The NJPCA Healthcare Hero Award recognizes outstanding healthcare professionals who go above and beyond in serving their patients and communities. The award highlights the dedication of healthcare workers who make a meaningful impact on the quality of care and the well-being of the communities they serve.

At the JRF Community Health Center, we were proud to recognize Kacie Rivas, Patient Registrar, for truly making a difference every day. Kacie is an outstanding coworker, a compassionate advocate for our patients, and an inspiration to those around her. As only Kacie would put it, she “really did her big one” this year, exemplifying what it means to be a true team player.

As our youngest Health Center employee, Kacie’s youthfulness and infectious personality help keep the office up to speed with the hottest trends and current slang. In short, she keeps the team young!

We are fortunate to have Kacie as part of the JRF Community Health Center, and she is incredibly deserving of being recognized as a Healthcare Hero.

Kacie, thank you for your commitment to the JRF Community Health Center, your fellow team members, and the patients we serve. We are so proud to celebrate you!

💗 This October, JRF wears pink! 💗

As we recognize Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we come together to raise awareness, encourage early detection, and show our support for everyone whose life has been touched by breast cancer.

Breast cancer affects millions of women and their families. By encouraging regular screenings, promoting early detection, and supporting access to care, we can help make a difference in the health and well-being of our community.

Pink is a symbol of awareness, hope, strength, and support. Today, our JRF team proudly wears pink to stand together and remind our community that taking care of your health matters.

Together, we’re stronger. 💗

💗 Your health is worth it!
This World Mammography Day, make your breast health a priority. Women ages 40 and older should receive regular screening mammograms.

While mammograms are not performed at the JRF Community Health Center, our care team can help you access the screening you need by providing a referral to a mammography provider.

Because preventive care matters—and no woman should have to choose between caring for her family and caring for herself. 💕

✨ HONOREE HIGHLIGHT OF THE DAY: CHIEF ANDREW TOTH ✨

For Fire Chief Andrew L. Toth Jr., a commitment to public safety and service to the Edison community began at an early age. At just 14 years old, he joined the Edison Police Explorers, and while still a student at J.P. Stevens High School, he began his career in the fire service with the Oak Tree Volunteer Fire Company.

That early commitment grew into a lifelong career dedicated to protecting and serving his hometown. Today, Chief Toth serves as Chief of the Edison Division of Fire and Director of the Edison Township Office of Emergency Management, providing leadership in fire protection, emergency response, preparedness, and community safety.

From his beginnings as a young volunteer to his leadership today, Chief Toth's career reflects a steadfast dedication to public service, community resilience, and the well-being of Edison residents.

In celebration of this year's theme, Celebrating Community. Transforming Lives., we are proud to honor Chief Andrew Toth as our Steward of Public Safety & Community Trust at the 2026 JRF Annual Gala.

As we say hello to October, JRF welcomes opportunities to come together in solidarity and bring awareness to important causes that impact our communities.

This October, JRF has identified four Thursdays as days of solidarity:
📅 10/8 • 10/15 • 10/22 • 10/29

On each of these days, our staff will wear a specified color as a simple, visible way to show our support, spark conversations, and encourage awareness and action around these important issues.

Wearing a color is a simple way to show support, spark conversation, and remind our community that these issues matter. Small acts can start important conversations.

Join Us! 💚💗💜🧡💙
Let’s make every Thursday in October a visible reminder that our community cares! Let’s wear our colors and stand together for awareness, support, and community.

And it doesn’t end there! 📸

We want to take this message beyond our staff and share it with our community, so stay tuned for photos of how JRF comes together!
Want to be part of the action? Wear your colors, take a photo, and tag JRF or send us a message. We’d love to highlight you on our page, too! 💚💗💜🧡💙
