Today I received an Angry Phone call from one of the cities we had honored as a Purple Heart City saying they been checking our National Site which listed Purple Heart Cities and their name is not listed.
A) our chapters, members , purple rose ladies do their part in making sure we get a proclamation to send to National. So they will be listed .
Our Ambassadors, Purple Rose Ladies, Members and Chapters often buy the plagues , street signs and attend the ceremonies all out of their own pockets. Then we send our state Adjacent a copy of the proclamation and Gary Lewis send them to National. And then we wait.
PROBLEM is only one or at the most two people at National are responsible for updating the list of Purple Heart Cities, Town, Business I admit is must be hard for one person to keep up with all our states who are turning America Purple. But that doesn’t help the State Chapters, members, Ambassadors, From feeling let down that what we promised is not done.
SOLUTION , My suggestion is for National to have their person who makes the entries of Purple Heart Cities, Counties, Etc to share his/ her work load
By letting the State Commanders or chapters appoint a person or persons to add their state Purple Heart Cities, towns, counties, etc. Once we have the proclamation.
This would also solve the problem of when someone ask is my town, etc a Purple Heart Town, City, County with a complete list.
It really a simple problem and solution.
Not trying to dump on anyone, just see a problem and want to make sure as we honor a City, Town or County they can see that everyone can look on the list .
I know our members, ambassador, etc would be eager to help fix this issue.
We in Oklahoma are working hard to make Oklahoma Purple and Proud and want to show those who join our family how proud we are that they have joined us.
