Building stronger partnerships starts with understanding each other’s roles. 🚒🤝📞
Yesterday, members of our Emergency Communications team had the opportunity to tour Oak Cliff and Deer Creek Volunteer Fire Departments. The group got a behind the scenes look at station operations, connected with Fire personnel, and tried on some gear.
But the highlight had to be climbing to the top of the ladder! While some of us discovered that we’re much more comfortable dispatching emergencies from the ground, everyone conquered their fears and made the climb! 😅
Thank you to Oak Cliff and Deer Creek Fire Departments for welcoming us and sharing your knowledge!

June is | National Pet Preparedness Month! Summer heat can be dangerous for pets, especially during Oklahoma’s hottest days. ☀️
Remember:
• Never leave pets in a parked vehicle, even with the windows cracked
• Make sure they always have access to fresh water
• Avoid walks and strenuous outdoor exercise
• Watch for signs of heat stress or exhaustion
• If the pavement feels too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for their paws. 🐾
A little extra awareness can help keep pets safe and healthy this summer.

After a two-year absence, one of the most popular annual events in Edmond – Touch-A-Truck – returns THIS SATURDAY, June 6th!
Featuring dozens of trucks, this family-friendly fundraising event offers kids of all ages the opportunity to experience life-size vehicles and interact with community support leaders like police officers, firefighters, construction workers, and even a few special surprise guests you won't want to miss!
The event will take place at parking lot #6 on the UCO campus from 9 a.m. to noon and will feature a “quiet hour” from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. to accommodate those sensitive to loud noises. During this time, no horns or loud music will be allowed.
Sponsored by Edmond Electric, the event is free, but a suggested $2 donation goes directly to the HOPE Center of Edmond, benefiting residents in our own community!

Today, Edmond 911’s leadership team proudly attended 911 Day at the Capitol alongside agencies from across Oklahoma.
We’re grateful for the opportunity to connect, collaborate, and continue advocating for dependable emergency communications statewide; while also supporting the ongoing effort to achieve federal recognition for Dispatchers as First Responders.
Thank you to everyone who helped make today meaningful. We look forward to being back next year!
