To our volunteers for the Thanksgiving Day event, if you already received confirmation on your times, please come about 10 min before your shift to check-in and get instructions. For those that haven’t received confirmation yet, that will be coming later today or tomorrow. All volunteers can park in the parking lot east of the Nigh Center. If you’re volunteering for food prep, prior to Thanksgiving Day, please come to the SW entrance of First Presbyterian Church (you may be asked to go to another location, depending on needs). Our volunteer efforts are going well. Thank you to all that have volunteered We still have a few holes for preparations prior to Thanksgiving. Specifically Friday 11/21, Monday 11/24, 8-12 & 1-4 Tuesday 11/25 8-12 & 1-4 and Wed 11/26 8-12. We also have volunteer needs for clean-up from 12:30-2:30 & 2:15-4:00. Good evening All, this is an update on our volunteers needed. We’ve had many who’ve sent their volunteer form already and I’ve responded to some, but not all. Many people volunteer as line server, thinking they’ll engage with those eating the meal, but they will actually be in a separate area with just the other line servers and the wait staff (volunteers), taking the meals out to the dining area. That being said, we still have a huge hole for needed volunteers for wait staff, table reset and busers from 10:45 until 2:30. If you haven’t volunteered already, please consider doing so. I will be sending confirmations, via text to those that have responded. If you don’t receive a text confirming your request, please reach out via email [email protected]. It’s that time of year again. Our annual Thanksgiving Dinner is celebrating its 44th year and what a wonderful opportunity to volunteer and enjoy a great meal with family and friends. We have been blessed, year in and year out to have hundreds of volunteers and we absolutely need that again this year. A big thank you to those that have already forwarded their volunteer sheets and I urgently encourage you to submit yours. We’d like to have all volunteer requests in by 11-19-2025, so we can make sure we have all areas covered. Volunteer opportunities range from the week before Thanksgiving through the Friday after. Families are welcome to volunteer together, but we do have to limit the minimum age of volunteers to 14 yrs old. Also must be 18 yrs old to serve on the food line and 21 yrs old to work the dishwasher area.

Happy Thanksgiving!! Another year added to the history books. On behalf of our committee and the 100’s of volunteers that stepped up to serve, from the food prep that started last week and culminated with a delicious meal served today, we express our sincere gratitude and appreciation for you. The meal was great, meeting new people and sharing fellowship is what makes this event so memorable. Again thank you to all that helped.
Also while this is all fresh in our minds, we’d like to hear any feedback (constructive criticism please), or positive comments are welcomed too.

Lastly, it takes an enormous amount of effort and energy to plan and put this event together each year and many of the people involved have been graciously serving for many years (some for decades). That being said, this event can’t continue into future years, unless we have some of our younger generations, step up to serve in a much larger capacity, than volunteering for the event itself. I would humbly ask you to have the conversations with your family, friends and faith groups, and if that is something you feel called to, please reach out to us and we’d be happy to share details with you.

The meal is being served now and we have room for more. Come on over.

An update on our needed volunteers. Many people have responded to our request, and it’s very much appreciated. Year after year, many come back. Although our dinner this year will have a few changes, we will still have delicious food and good fellowship. That being said, we are still short volunteers. If you’ve already volunteered and are available to stay for all or part of the next shift, that would be great.

Food Prep 10:45 - 1:00

If you’ve volunteered already, you should have received a confirmation email or text response. If you’ve volunteered and haven’t, please show up on the day and time you vounteered for. We have received many requests for volunteers. If you have completed the form and sent an email to our [email protected] or forwarded your name, email, contact # (and what day/time you’d like to serve), to that email, then consider to have received a confirmation. To answer and clarify a couple other questions: we will only have the sit down meal, this year. Regrettably, there will be no To-Go, delivery nor drive-thru meals available this year. Hopefully next year we will be back to more options. Secondly, this year’s meal will be served in the Bronco Room (lower level on North side), from 11 am to 2 pm only. We will be able to serve 220 diners at a time, so please factor that into your schedule and we will have a seating area to wait until a spot opens up in the dining area.
