In education, we never ask if you’re a Republican, Democrat, or an Independent, Libertarian, or anything in between. We set goals, establish guardrails, adjust, and then we work together to get the job done. That’s how almost every successful organization operates, yet somehow, government has convinced us it should operate differently.
We’ve become so consumed with identifying which team someone belongs to that sometimes we forget we’re supposed to be solving problems for the same people.
I don’t think Oklahoma has to operate that way. I’ve worked with people across the political spectrum throughout my career, and sometimes the only reason I ever learned someone’s political affiliation was because government forced us into categories where suddenly it mattered.
No other job I’ve ever had worked like that. When I was a principal, we had goals, and then we built systems around those goals and measured whether what we were doing actually worked.
That’s how we moved from good to great.
That’s exactly how I want to approach the Lieutenant Governor’s office. Set goals, establish guardrails, bring the right people together, measure results, and keep rowing in the same direction.
I’ll work with Tribal leaders, business owners, educators, farmers, workers, community leaders, and anybody else willing to help make Oklahoma better.
You don’t have to agree with me about everything to work with me on something, and when I sit on the boards and commissions entrusted to the Lieutenant Governor,
I want to ask: Did it work? Did we solve the problem? Did we leave the community better than we found it?
And if the answer is no, what are we going to do differently?
We’ve spent nearly two decades with one party controlling Oklahoma government. I’m offering something different.
Not replacing one political team with another political team that refuses to work with anyone else.
A different way of working altogether.
I don’t need everyone at the table to think alike. I need us to be willing to work together because that’s what I’ve done my entire career, and that’s how I’ll serve as your next Lieutenant Governor.
I believe our best days are ahead. Let’s move Oklahoma forward…together!
